Like Kenneth Bailey, Lois Tverberg, in her latest book, "Reading the Bible with Rabbi Jesus," demonstrates the importance of reading the Old Testament with the eyes of a Hebrew.
Tverberg writes in such a way that you want to pick up your Bible and dig into the Old Testament. She takes us 20th century readers back to the 1st century where we might place our feet into the sandals of Christ's followers and better understand how Jesus used the OT Scriptures to show that He is the promised Messiah, sent from God. The discussion questions at the end of each section are helpful for individual or group study. A very informative book.
